A Land Rover Freelander 2 was brought in for repairs. The battery indicator on the dashboard is on, but it does not light up immediately after starting the engine. Moreover, there is a charge, but less than it should. The generator was removed and sent for repairs. After repairs, the generator light continues to glow. How and what needs to be checked before dismantling the generator. Diagnostics using the Kingbolen scanner (launch, zinkdiag, Launch, Thinkdiag, Kingbolen, Ediag, Diagzone) and the Ediag program showed an error in the engine control unit - P065B generator control circuit. Search for a wire break and repair.
