Inspired by @valleontour's Balkan Adventures 2021, I made my dream come true in September 2022. Via Waldkraiburg, Salzburg Obertauern, I went via Italy to Mangart (2677m) in Slovenia. After a long rainy day and a fall, I continued on to Croatia to watch the wild horses in the Crno region from the Vidikovac Sviba viewpoint. The lost place Aerodrom Zeljava held mystical images in store for me. After a starry sky, I stopped by the Plitvice Lakes and headed for the Cetina spring. The Glavaš spring is one of the natural springs in the Dinara Mountains that feed the 105 km long Cetina River and has a beautiful blue color. Unfortunately, I reached the destination again in the rain. A short time later, I crossed the Bosnian border to the Ramsko reservoir. The view of the islands was breathtaking. Now my first longer off-road stage to Lukomir awaited me. It is a small mountain village in the center of Bosnia and Herzegovina, about 40 kilometers southwest of Sarajevo. With its location at 1455 m, Lukomir is the highest settlement in the country and the only one at over 1300 m. So it is a place of silence. Late in the evening I experienced an incredible sunset on Mount Bjelasnica (2067 m), where I spent the night below. I headed for Sarajevo past the former Hotel IGMAN (1986 Olympic Games). Unfortunately I didn't have time for the historic city center, so I enjoyed the view from the bobsleigh run before heavy rain accompanied me back towards Montenegro. I had reached my destination, Durmitor National Park, past the Piva Gorge. I found an ideal camping spot with a wonderful view of the plateau, although it got quite cold at night. An absolute 45 km off-road highlight awaited me in the Krnovo area in the municipality of Savnik. Wild dogs often made the journey exciting. In the evening I reached Podgorica. Within 10 minutes I managed to find a front tire so that I could have it fitted in the morning. With fresh tires I went to Albania in the Teth Valley. The plan was to ride the 50km stage in 4 hours. However, I met Peter from Lörrach. With road tires he quickly realized that his equipment and mental performance had deteriorated significantly after several crashes. In keeping with my motto "leave no one behind" we first fought our way to the campground and then through the terrain until midday the next day. Challenging for man and machine.
