BACH - A Christmas Miracle Historical ORF/ARD family film about the creation of the Christmas Oratorio with Devid Striesow and Verena Altenberger as an ORF premiere. On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, the lavishly staged, historical event film "BACH - A Christmas Miracle" - a co-production of ORF, ARD Degeto, MDR and BR - with Devid Striesow and Verena Altenberger in the leading roles tells the story of the world-famous composer genius Johann Sebastian Bach, his love for his family and his most famous work alongside the St. Matthew Passion - the Christmas Oratorio. Directed by Florian Baxmeyer and based on a screenplay by Christian Schnalke, Devid Striesow's son Ludwig Simon, who plays Bach's son Emanuel in the film, can be seen in the title role alongside him. Verena Altenberger takes on the role of Johann Sebastian's wife Anna Magdalena Bach. Other roles include Dominic Marcus Singer, German von Beug, Lotta Herzog, Thorsten Merten, Christina Große, Victor Tahal, Daniel Christensen, Dominik Weber, Luise Aschenbrenner, Felix Hellmann and Christoph Luser. "BACH - A Christmas Miracle" was filmed from January to March 2024 in Greillenstein and Horn in Austria and in Weimar, Buttstädt and Merseburg in Germany.
