AY KIZ (EZGİNİN DİĞÜ FIRST CONCERT RECORDING, 1983) Ezginin Günlüğü music group was founded in 1981 by Emin İgüs, Hakan Yılmaz, Vedat Verter, Tugay Başar, Şebnem (Tuncay) Ünal. Emin İgüs suggested that the group be given the name "Ezginin Günlüğü". This name, which meant keeping a diary with melodies, recording life with melodies, was initially found a bit strange, but was later adopted by the group members and the audience. Nadir Göktürk joined the group in 1982, a year after its foundation. Other artists also contributed to the group's work during this early period: Doğan Dikmen (ney), Baki Duyarlar (cello), Kemal Küçük (percussion instruments), Erol Şengül (cello), Canan Tollu (flute), Nurgül Yahyaoğlu (vocals). Ezginin Günlüğü gave their first concert on March 28, 1983 at Hodri Meydan Cultural Center in Zincirlikuyu, Istanbul (Hodri Meydan Cultural Center, which also housed the Levent Kırca Theater, unfortunately closed a long time ago). Immediately after the first concert, they gave their second concert on April 6, 1983, at the same venue. The song we present here is a cleaned-up version of the live recording from their first concert.
