Avocado. How it is grown and processed. A thick, pimply skin of an unattractive dirty green shade - avocado is somewhat reminiscent of a fat caterpillar. But just as a wonderful butterfly hides under the caterpillar's shell, so under the modest clothing of the fruit hides a tight, juicy pulp with an oily texture and a magical taste. Avocado is a fruit tree that prefers tropical and subtropical climates. In the botanical classification, it is referred to as "Persea americana". The avocado fruit is similar in shape to a pear and has a dense, rough skin of a rich green color. This is where the popular name of the crop comes from - "alligator pear". This native of the tropics is demanding of lighting, although it is capable of growing (but not bearing fruit!) in light shade. Avocado is even more sensitive to temperature conditions: even frost of -7 degrees is destructive for the tree. An interesting fact is that chemical analysis of the plant's fruit shows that it is closer to vegetables, since its pulp contains very little sugar, but its energy value is high. The pale taste is almost not very pleasing. These properties of the fruit allow it to be used as a component of various salads and other mixed dishes.
