We leave the car in the free parking lot at Passo Falzarego and take the path towards Forcella Averau. The path is quite easy, especially in the first part. Towards the fork there is a small canal to go up with some rocks, where you need to pay a little attention. At Forcella Averau the path flattens out and in a few minutes we arrive at the Averau Refuge. You can see the Cinque Torri, in front of you the Nuvolau and behind you the Averau. Going to the left the path leads to the Ferrata Averau, which can be done in 15 minutes (apart from the wait below to wait for some who were coming down). After the short ferrata with a path you reach the summit in twenty minutes. The view is magnificent, 360° of the Dolomites. You can see very well: Sassolungo, Marmolada, Pelmo, Civetta, Antelao, Cristallo, Cadini di Misurina, Tofane, Lagazuoi. The descent is along the same path and the same via ferrata, except for a short detour towards the end that allows you to avoid the queue with some brackets. Once back at the Averau refuge, we climb up the Laste del Nuvolau, a simple rock slab that leads us to the summit, where the Nuvolau refuge is located. In addition to the Dolomites, we have a magnificent view of the Giau pass. We return to the Averau refuge and from there we take the path that descends towards the Cinque Torri, and then the path that leads to the Falzarego pass (in truth, the path arrives below the pass, so we have to go back up a bit to get back to the car).
