Maestro Javier Bátiz welcomed us into his home in the Altamira neighborhood of Tijuana, Baja California, wearing a red t-shirt that showed his love for his city. For the Tijuana rocker, the Avándaro Festival “was sensational, there wasn’t a bad group, they were all super good and as (Jacobo) Zabludovsky said in the narration he was doing live on XEW, he said we have already been invaded by many foreign musicians, now we are ready to export our musicians.” For many, Bátiz should have played at the festival, especially for what it has represented for the history of rock in Mexico.
