Juan Carlos Mareco presents what will be the last program of 1984. His guest is Facundo Cabral, a successful singer-songwriter who became famous thanks to his last two albums, “Pateando tachos” and “Ferrocabral.” At the beginning of the interview, Cabral evokes the figure of Tanguito and reflects on his tragic end, recalls an occasion when he played for Octavio Paz in New York and develops his particular way of conceiving time. He also refers to the search to transmit through his music the wisdom and art of universal thinkers and poets, although with the simplicity that reveals them in their truth. He describes the heterogeneity of his audience in terms of age and social condition. He tells how he lived the first year of democracy after the dictatorship that led him to exile and to wander through numerous countries; and he interprets the song “Entre pobres.” Then, the singer-songwriter talks about his admiration for Alberto Cortez and recounts his career abroad, which led him to experience great luxuries. He explains that his own song “Pobrecito mi patron” made him decide to return to a simpler life and embark on a trip to India to delve into his spirituality. He also talks about the imprint his mother left on him and performs the song “Vuele bajo”. Towards the end, Mareco calls together his production team, collaborators and director for the end-of-year toast, in which the cameramen also participate.
