Do you know what automatic irrigation is? It is a technology that saves the lives of plants during periods of no rain or while we are away from home. We have seen many models on the internet, but our dripper has its advantages: it is cheap, easy to make and lasts much longer! Generally, a dripper is made with 600 ml PET bottles with a simple hole made with a needle in the bottom -- or with a string attached half inside and half outside the bottle. But what is the problem with the experience with the traditional dripper? It is impossible to control the flow of water that falls, so you have to rely on luck. With our automatic irrigation system, you can have much greater control and even know how many drops fall on your plant. Another advantage is that our improved version lasts much longer than the traditional one made with small bottles. Here at Manual do Mundo, you will learn how to make automatic irrigation with a grape juice bottle and a 2-liter PET bottle, meaning you will be able to stay away from home without worrying! In addition to the bottles, we will also need: Hospital serum hose; Cotton string; Very thin wire. As you watch the video, you'll realize that making a dripper is very easy and that there's a lot of science involved! So, let's take advantage and have a lesson on atmospheric pressure. With this experiment, we'll answer questions like: How does water stay in the bottle even when it's upside down? How does the string attract, slow down, and direct the flow of water?
