Today we are going to talk about the importance of eye contact for the development of autistic people. How to help a child look into someone's eyes or make eye contact when necessary is one of the topics of our podcast. The lack of eye contact causes many problems for children in their development and in matters of social interaction and communication. One of the areas affected by this lack of looking at others is the issue of speech acquisition. In this podcast I explain the importance of eye contact for autistic people and how we can develop and encourage this eye contact in a respectful way.
