About :

Augusto Silva is a renovator of the frevo drums, with several projects and workshops focused on the instrument. In 2019, he started the Augusto Silva & Frevo Novo project, whose aim is to promote new frevo composers and arrangers from Pernambuco (they are in 80% of the repertoire) but, of course, revisiting established classics - starting with his own rearrangements for these compositions - and original concepts that began with the formation of the band: a quartet formed by him (drums), Waltinho (tuba and bass), Liêve Ferreira (guitar) and Beto Bala (percussion); in VS, brass arrangements (sax, trumpet and trombone), flute and fife accompany the band.
