In this session we will explore the transformative power of the arts in therapeutic processes and their impact on human development. During the session, we will address fundamental questions such as: What are the arts for? What do we create human beings for? How do the arts open up the possibility of transformation in therapeutic processes and support human development? Marta Pawlikowska Transdisciplinary art therapist, drama therapist, theatrical creator and performer, teacher. She has extensive training and professional and international experience in the fields of performing arts, social theatre, new dramaturgies, performance art, butoh dance, literature and cultural studies (University of Wrocław, University of Groningen, Eólia Escola Superior d´Art Drámatic, Ars Performance Lab, Cantabile 2 Dinamarka, Atelier Escènic Stoyanova, among others). As an art therapist and theatre therapist, she works in clinical, social and educational settings, both private and public, with populations of women, drug addicts, people at risk of social exclusion, migrants and sees adults in a private practice in Barcelona. In the last years of her professional career, she has focused on and researched how art and, above all, the body, its movement and expression open up possibilities for transformation and health in therapeutic processes. She is the coordinator of the Master's Degree in Theatre Therapy at ISEP. Arantxa Vilar Art therapist and community mediator. Specialized in women and processes of empowerment and recognition in the face of violence against them, opening spaces for creation as a channel of expression and transformation. She has led different participatory art projects in extremely vulnerable environments for inclusion and social cohesion. She has also coordinated different projects for emotional support and conflict resolution through art in the educational field, where she has worked as an artistic mediator.
