There is no need to introduce Fernando. His thousands of programs about books, his hundreds of publications in the press, his dozens of books and his recurring appearances on radio are more than enough of a letter of introduction. Personally, I discovered Fernando when I was only 14 years old. It was a Sunday night on La 2 of Spanish Television. His book program, Negro sobre Blanco, opened up a new world to me: the world of books. Years later I realized that this curiosity to discover adventures, reflections, fantasies, etc., always in paper format (that was non-negotiable for me), did not remain something superfluous, it did not remain a simple intellectual routine, but it also awakened a rich internal dialogue in me, which I find difficult to have found through any other means (although I do not doubt that it is possible). Fernando is a person who generates controversy with his discourse. That is a reality. However, this is not the reason why he participates in our podcast. The reason is that he is a person who, after having travelled a lot, read a lot, lived a lot and in many places, and spoken with people of all kinds and ideologies (both behind and in front of the cameras), takes a radical position against technology. His position is a position that is close to the visceral. Although it may seem striking, I find it very enriching to talk to someone who is at the antipodes of my way of thinking about technology. Without a doubt, I have to tell you that doing this exercise is uncomfortable but you learn a lot. However, being at the antipodes, I think we do agree that wealth will never be associated with technology. That is to say, wealth is not outside of oneself but within that internal forum that every human being has in potential and that unfortunately does not always emerge or manifest itself. Also tangentially, Fernando expresses in his own experience, the so-called technological gap. This cruelly and unfairly plagues some parts of our society. This conversation is therefore a reflection of those problems that I humbly wish to share with you in the hope of generating greater sensitivity.
