These trains were ordered in December 2022, Renfe purchased 49 100m trains from Alstom and 20 trains of the 453 series from Stadler. In order to manufacture all these trains, the Stadler factory has had to expand its factory in Valencia, during the construction of the 336 Eurolight locomotive for Adif and has had to hire many workers. The characteristics of the new Renfe suburban 453 series are as follows: The single-deck cars, with all doors at platform height, are from the FLIRT family, while the double-deck cars, with a higher capacity and not articulated, come from the Stadler KISS family. These new trains have the digital Asfa and ERTMS security systems, the electric traction system is manufactured by ABB, a good company in this area, they will also offer WiFi and have USB sockets.
