Are You Ready to Take Action or Not? Armağan Portakal was born in Salihli in 1969. He is an environmental engineer but had a marketing career in the private sector. He resigned in 2005, left the corporate world and established a freelance marketing companion system. He traveled, took photos, and wrote. He focused on the feelings left by cities during his travels. He opened two personal photography exhibitions under the name Armağan'ın Penceresi and donated all of his income to the Turkish Library for the Visually Impaired. He participated in mixed exhibitions with his photographs. He has books called Coincidence, Pencere and Doğma Yavrum Dünya Çok Kalabalık. He is a member of the 2kadinanadoluda team, travels, writes, and photographs Anatolia. There are people in his life that inspire him and he thinks, “If I am inspired, I must inspire, so that the chain is complete.” He does not wait to be perfect to share. He says that a pinch of sweat and labor every day strengthens the bones and keeps a person upright. He founded Torlak Farm in 2015. He became a farmer. He is a fan of olives and the rhythm of the soil. He is a part of the whole… This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
