Chapters: Introduction: 0:00 - 2:30 Part 1: What is emotional dependency? : 2:30 - 4:10 Part 2: Why do we become emotionally dependent? 4:10 - 7:35 Part 3: What are the 3 symptoms to identify it? 7:35 - 20:47 When we talk about emotional dependency, we are talking about several things. We are talking about an emotional reservoir disorder, a trust spine disorder and a self-love disorder. It is an emotional deficiency that in reality makes a person seek the foundations of their matrix in others. To put it simply, an emotionally dependent person bases love and self-esteem on external factors, such as their partner, their job, a social position or even many material goods. But their search is never fully satisfied, they never really feel fulfilled enough and face an inner void that is not without consequences for both them and those around them. An emotionally dependent person never values themselves at their true worth and often becomes submissive to others. For example, the emotionally dependent people I see in consultation often tell me, “Christèle, I am always the one who loves the most and gives the most, even in terms of affection.” In reality, it is emotional dependence that manifests itself through intense demands for attention and affection that harm the quality of your social relationships. The emotionally dependent person is therefore constantly disappointed by the love he receives because it is never really fulfilled, the emptiness and anxiety he feels being far too great.
