Roofing is a skilled trade. How much do you earn as a journeyman without a master craftsman? What is it like working on a construction site? How dangerous are jobs in construction? That's what this episode is about. André Engels (29) has been working as a roofer in Aachen for ten years. Even when the scaffolding is icy or the sun is beating down on the tiles "like hell": André climbs onto the roof. With his roofing crew, the 29-year-old renovates tiled roofs of single-family homes or flat roofs of large industrial plants. Forty hours a week. The job is his thing, he says, but he doesn't want to become a master craftsman: "It's not worth it." With his professional experience, he earns a good salary for working at heights, but after his last accident at work, André considered giving it all up. You can see what happened and the dizzying risks that roofers face every day in the film. As always, you can find out more about his career and his salary in the pinned comment. PS: André likes listening to Sido, maybe you'll notice it in some places ;) This is "Is it worth it?": One person, one job, one life. And at the end the question: Is it worth it? We accompany people in their careers and show their lives. Is it worth it to work for the salary and use it to finance your own life? What makes me happy at work? We don't just compare salaries, we show how people live from their work. We are always looking for protagonists: If you also want to show how you live with your job, feel free to write to [email protected]!
