In this video, I talked about how the admission processes for PhD and MA programs at the world's best universities work and what kind of candidates are accepted by these universities. First of all, I wanted to reiterate once more: I don't want to create an effect that will demoralize some of our young people who watch the video or discourage them from applying. As I said, this university, whose processes I had the chance to follow, was extremely competitive (it is in the top 10 in the rankings and its main competitor in its field is Harvard University, which is why its GMAT/GRE and TOEFL scores are so high), but I believe that many of our young people will easily be accepted to most of the universities in the top 100. My only goal is to know who your best competitors are and act with this knowledge. If you have the financial means, I recommend that you apply to the best universities without considering anything in this video, but otherwise, it would be best to focus on universities that are more targeted and have a high chance of accepting you. The second thing I want to mention is the number of applications; over 200 applications were made for the MA program, and 80 candidates applied for the PhD. I forgot to mention these numbers in the video. Another factor that I forgot to mention in the video for the PhD is whether the candidates have a research background or not. Frankly, a professor on the board stated that they do not necessarily have to accept candidates with a research background, that they can easily teach the research process to candidates with potential, and with this opinion, he expressed his opinion that a few candidates should move on to the next round of interviews. However, unfortunately, since the majority did not agree with this opinion, only those with a research background (those with papers and articles) could move on to the next round. Another issue is the reference. At this point, I should state that candidates with very strong reference letters are again one step ahead. What I mean by power has two dimensions: the first is the recognition and awareness of the reference person in the field, and the second is the impressiveness of the information given about the candidate in the reference letter. It is another really important variable in the elections. Finally, the 60 million dollar thing :) To be honest, the figure I was told was exactly 60 million, but when I did some research later, this figure seemed exaggerated and I put a warning in the video saying 6 million. Although this number still seems incredibly high to me, they may have really taken the risk of losing 60 million dollars, after all, these guys have money :). 📌To support both our team and our fight with Babişko Asumanlar with the join button: / @akademiklink 🔸 Have you listened to our podcasts?
