Antareja is one of the characters in the Mahabharata Nusantara who is known as the son of Bimasena from Pandawa with Dewi Nagagini, the daughter of the Snake King, Antaboga. He has a half-human and half-snake form, with extraordinary powers, including the ability to disappear and lick enemies until they are destroyed with poison from his tongue. Although very powerful, Antareja is a humble and loyal figure. In the Javanese puppet story, he chooses not to be directly involved in Bharatayudha in order to respect his ancestors. Antareja finally sacrifices himself for the victory of the Pandawa, making his story a symbol of true devotion and loyalty.
