September 15, 2024 marked the 188th anniversary of the opening of one of the first German railways, the Tollwitz-Dürrenberger Railway. We at the Kötzschau Railway Museum did not want to let this pass and organized a little journey back in time to September 15, 1836. The inauguration ceremony was recreated at exactly the same location, in front of Germany's oldest railway tunnel. As part of the State Garden Show, which took place in parallel in 2024, countless spectators came to see this little spectacle. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved, including the city of Bad Dürrenberg and the mayor Christoph Schulze, the State Garden Show gGmbH and its managing director Michael Steinland, the Bad Dürrenberg Homeland Association, the Bad Dürrenberg Municipal Folk Choir, as well as Marion Kohla from the visitor service of the State Garden Show 2024 and all those involved who were not intentionally left unnamed.
