Channel support (for consumables) https://www.donationalerts.com/r/ppage In this video, I talk about my experience in annealing U12 steel (other tool steels, such as U8-U13, are annealed in a similar way, with a slight difference in temperatures). I heat in a 30mm diameter steel tube filled with dry wood (birch) charcoal and with holes sealed with clay, according to the following mode: 1. Preheating from a temperature of 450-500 degrees; 2. Main heating 750-770 degrees (U11, U12, U13) + holding for 1 hour, for U8, U9, U10 steel the temperature is 740-750 degrees; 3. Cooling together with the furnace to room temperature. Results: 1. Hardness 169 HV; 2. Optimal structure - granular pearlite.
