About the band: On May 9, 1997, we had our first official performance on the occasion of Mother's Day in the Bystričany Cultural Center. During the following months, we worked hard on the repertoire and in November 1997, we played a 4-hour end-of-year party for the local elementary school. To date, we have played hundreds of weddings, hundreds of parties and balls. Over time, our area of operation has expanded beyond the district and region (Banská Bystrica, Žilina, Nové Mesto nad Váhom, ...). The music group ANIMA from Bystričany has recorded 3 CDs so far, the first two are situated in the band's own creations, the last CD is a selection of standard songs that the group plays during weddings and parties. In 2001, our keyboardist and singer Majo began mandatory military service and we accepted bassist Ján Michalka into our ranks. After Majo returned, we played in a five-member lineup. Not long after, our singer Idka Kmeťová left us, gradually devoting herself to her marital and maternal duties. And so the current form of the ANIMA music group finally crystallized: Libor Plevka - trumpet, keyboards, vocals Marián Švec - keyboards, vocals Ján Michalka - bass guitar, vocals
