The outfit of 'Mevrouw de Bok' has been given a permanent place in the foyer of the Oude Luxor Theater in Rotterdam. In honor of her interpreter Corrie van Gorp, the display case containing the characteristic clothing was unveiled on Wednesday afternoon. For years, the Rotterdam native played the character in the André van Duin revues. She also regularly scored a carnival hit. According to comedian Richard Groenedijk, initiator of the tribute, Van Gorp had said goodbye to the stage because she was stressed out. That is why he organized her tribute. André van Duin, Joke Bruijs, Irene Moors and mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb were among those present. Aboutaleb praised Van Gorp for her contribution to Dutch culture. According to him, he understood this partly because of Van Gorp and Van Duin. Van Duin still feels a personal bond with Van Gorp. "We are very connected to each other. How often do people on the street ask: 'How is your wife?'. They mean Mrs. de Bok." Corrie started her career as a dancer. She also acted and was a singer. Of course she was celebrated in style. "Goodbye dear Corrie, after all these years you are the Grand Old Lady of our own Rotterdam", sang Richard Groenedijk in a song, written especially for Corrie van Gorp, "Even though you have those gray hairs now, they suit you. You remain that old flame."
