My guest today started boxing at the age of 11, a sport he followed for more than a decade and which helped shape his character. The son of an executive and a chemical engineer and dancer, he graduated in Veterinary Medicine, but ended up pursuing a career as a life insurance broker. When moving house, he was invited by a friend to visit a Crossfit box, located next to his new home. During his first visit, he surprised everyone by immediately performing a “strict bar muscle up”. From then on, he dove head first into Crossfit, and with his commitment and talent, he was soon invited by the box owner to train with the coaches. In the following years, he competed among the Crossfit elite, standing out for his strength, agility, power, speed and, above all, his endurance, which became his distinguishing feature. With such dedication, he set up his own Crossfit box in his garage, where he trained with friends. He started recording some workouts to share online. The channel gained visibility until it became a reference in the Crossfit world. For six years, he lived an intense routine of training and competitions, reaching the podium in the Crossfit Brazil Tournament three times and once in the tournament of the best in Latin America. With the arrival of the pandemic and a newborn son, he decided it was time to face a new challenge: participating in an Ironman race, an old desire. He knew he would have to undergo a physical and mental transformation, in addition to learning new modalities to achieve this goal. This entire transition would be documented on your channel. After a long process of adaptation, self-knowledge and many hours of training, he finally realized his dream by completing Ironman Cozumel in 2022. Today, he has already completed 14 Ironman 70.3 races and five Ironman races. His next goal is the World Cup in Hawaii, a place that has a very special meaning for him. With us here, the veterinarian who became an insurance broker, partner and protagonist of the Garage Training channel on YouTube, partner at Ice Lab, which promotes immersions for personal development, former cross-fitter who became a developing triathlete, addicted to performance and focused on his personal growth, a guy driven by challenges: São Paulo native André Fortunato Sanches.
