Cork, known as the “rebel city” or also “the true capital” of Ireland, is the heart of the industry in the south of the country. The nickname is due to the various uprisings that its inhabitants have led throughout history, especially against the English. With the help of reporter Luis Márquez, “Andalucía x el mundo” walks through the beautiful streets of Cork to learn about its tumultuous history, its pleasant present, its strong sense of community and, of course, several Andalusians who have found a place to put down roots here. Dunia is from Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) and is dedicated to teaching martial arts; also from Cádiz, but from Conil, are Kurro and Pili, a couple who have been in this city for five and a half years; Pilar, from Baena (Córdoba), has been in Ireland for two decades; and, finally, Inma, born in Fuengirola (Málaga) and resident in Cork for 28 years, where she found work in her passion: dance.
