A. Akhutin is a philosopher, a specialist in the field of philosophical history of science, history of philosophy, and cultural studies. Since 1967, he has been a student of Vladimir Bibler, a member of the Bibler circle. In 2010, he signed the appeal of the Russian opposition "Putin must go." Since 2009, he has been a regular participant in protest actions. Author of the books: “History of the Principles of Physical Experiment: From Antiquity to the 17th Century” (1976; 2012), “The Concept of “Nature” in Antiquity and the Modern Age (“Physis” and “Nature”)” (1989; 2012), “The Craving for Being: A Collection of Philosophical Works” (1997; 2005), “Turning Times: A Collection of Scientific Works (Articles and Sketches)” (2005), “Ancient Beginnings of Philosophy” (2007), “Europe — a Forum of Peace” (2015), “Philosophical Humor” (2018).
