In this video, I continue the battle narrative of the Åäninen Rannikkopriat presented in my previous video. In the fall of 1941, the troops of the brigade were stationed in the coastal villages of Ääninen. Part of the troops advanced as a Jääkäräbataljoan on the heels of one to Äänisniemi and Klimetskinsaari. In March 1942, a long-range patrol formed from the Coastal Brigade set out to destroy barges and tugboats left to winter at the mouth of the Vodlajoki. In addition, the patrol had to destroy the buildings of the Shaala sawmill and ski factory located at the mouth of the river. However, the patrol trip did not go as planned, because already on the first night, the patrol's direction department lost its way, and during the following days several mistakes backfired, and 23 of the less than 100 men in the patrol fell or were captured. I have processed the photos in the video into color images with image processing programs, and most of them were taken in the spring of 1942 at änissjärvi. #Äänisjärvi #Klimetskinaari #Kliimonsaari #Vodlajoki #Shaala #Puutoinen #Vasilinsaari
