Behrouz Esbati, a senior commander of the Revolutionary Guards in Syria, said that the Russians allowed Israel to “easily” target Iranian commanders by turning off their radar systems at “critical times.” During some of the Israeli operations in Syria, Mohammad Reza Zahedi, deputy commander of the Quds Force, Seyyed Razi Mousavi, the head of support for the Quds Force in Syria, and Sadegh Omidzadeh, deputy commander of intelligence for the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, were killed. In his remarks, the IRGC commander also mentioned a topic that is rarely heard from Iranian military and civilian officials: that Tehran has been hit in Syria. He said: “First of all, I don’t feel proud that we lost Syria.
