Lydia & Claude Bourguignon are scientists who now travel the world to support farmers and producers in their agricultural practices. In the 1970s, they were among the first to warn about soil degradation, loss of humus, and reduced productivity. The Bourguignons were behind the creation of the LAMS (Soil Microbiological Analysis Laboratory) in the late 1980s. Grégoire Jacob from TFT France leads this very rich time of discussion and meeting with Lydia & Claude Bourguignon who present avenues and tools to combat soil degradation and particularly how trees can be an excellent solution for producers to use. In a question and answer session, the Bourguignons share with us their daily lives and their working method, as close as possible to the field, of soil analysis by using the senses (observing the landscape, touching the earth, smelling it, walking on the ground) and alert us to the need to incorporate trees into production. -- Presenter -- Grégoire Jacob is responsible for TFT France partners, in charge of topics related to wood and forest management. He also follows the agroforestry projects developed with the Maisons du Monde Foundation in India. -- Speakers -- Lydia and Claude Bourguignon are scientists specializing in soil microbiology. They advise farmers all over the world.
