Want to hear the opinion of famous art critics, gallery owners, collectors about the work of an amazing artist who once stayed in France in the 90s and is now returning to her native Petersburg. Lyubov Velikoselskaya is a discovery for Petersburg. She began her creative path in the 90s in Paris, quickly gaining popularity at French salons, while remaining unknown to the Petersburg public. In the gallery space of the Art Hotel "Rachmaninov", the artist for the first time demonstrates the full diversity of her creative searches, including a new direction for her - portraiture. The graphic works presented at the exhibition are modern Parisian landscapes, views of St. Petersburg and sketches from the studio of Anatoly Zaslavsky, created this summer. Through the Naive style, which is more relevant than ever, the artist captures the atmosphere and images of two distant, but at the same time very similar in essence, cities with amazing precision. Black and white graphic sheets of favorite places in St. Petersburg, filled with carefully painted details, smoothly flow into views of Paris in lithography and giclee techniques. Pastel sketches from "Apartment 16", filled with portraits of St. Petersburg bohemia, become a bright accent. Lyubov Velikoselskaya was born in Leningrad and in 1971 graduated from the philosophy department of Leningrad State University with a diploma in teaching Marxism-Leninism. Later, she completed courses at the House of Journalists and was a freelance correspondent for Leningrad newspapers. During the perestroika years, she became a concert administrator and organized festivals. In 1992, she flew with her 14-year-old son to Paris and asked to stay. It was easy then. In 1999, she entered the art world as an artist through art therapy as part of a three-month course called "Personal Development and Improvement." And already in February 2000, she took part in a large-scale collective exhibition of the MARE artists' association. There she was noticed by art critics. This was followed by several more collective and solo exhibitions in Paris and the suburbs.
