The third edition of the review “Philosophy Appointments – An Ethics for the Future” organized by the Monfalcone Municipal Library in collaboration with the Mimesis Festival Territori delle idee cultural association of Udine and the Buonarroti High School of Monfalcone, promoted by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Monfalcone, opens with the theologian Vito Mancuso on “Courage and Fear”. With “Courage and Fear” Vito Mancuso will answer some very current questions: how to describe the spiritual and existential situation of our time? For many it is characterized by fear, lack of certainties, absence of points of reference. But precisely for this reason, in order not to give in to despair and find energy for rebirth, courage is needed. But what are the sources of courage? Vito Mancuso (Milan, 1962) was a professor of Modern and Contemporary Theology at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan and subsequently a professor of History of Theological Doctrines at the University of Padua. His writings have attracted considerable public attention also because his positions are not always aligned with those of the ecclesiastical hierarchies. Among his books: The Soul and Its Destiny (2007), God and I. A Guide for the Perplexed (2011), The Passion Principle. The Force That Drives Us to Love (2013), God and His Destiny (2015), Courage and Fear (2020).
