After a really bad period... I'm back in the mountains... I'm doing it with a dear friend of mine and our daughters. We are in the upper Val Bognanco. Departure from Gomba, at 1250 m. Near the YolkiPalki campsite, our trail, the D16, starts. We cross a beautiful pine forest, on a wide and clean trail, with a gradual and pleasant slope. We meet a viper... that will remain to be admired for a long time... We arrive at the Oriaccia and Vallaro mountain pastures, with its panoramic cross and the Marigonda bivouac (which we will visit on the way back). Breakfast and then the last climb up to 2040 meters, defying very strong gusts of freezing wind. It's 8 degrees and it will be a pleasure to have lunch in the refuge, in front of the stove... beautiful to stop and savor these moments, chatting with the managers and other hikers, and happily playing cards..???? It was needed... and it was a fair reward for the efforts made by the girls...???? This refuge is located in a strategic point. On the GTA, it allows crossings from the Bognanco valley to Switzerland and the Antrona valley, as well as the ascent to many spectacular peaks.
