Along the Niers near Kessel in Germany and Kloster Graefenthal

About :

We parked our car in Kessel (Germany) along the Steinacker. From here we walk via the Klosterweg to our hiking trail. We pass beautiful benches. One with squirrels, the other with fish and the last with owls. The route mostly goes along the Niers. There is a lot of canoeing on the Niers. On the way we pass the Kloster Graefenthal. For information about the monastery see https//de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kloster_Greafenthal Here we take a look and see the old monastery and also the old dovecote. In the monastery we have a delicious cup of coffee with a nice piece of cake. After this we continue our route and cross the Niers. The route continues through the Reichwald. Sometimes we walk next to the Niers and then through the woods again. Finally we arrive in Kessel where we turn left just before the bridge. We now walk along the Niers again.
