The Pinacoteca Ambrosiana was founded by Cardinal Federico Borromeo in 1618 and was created to ensure free cultural education to anyone with artistic or intellectual qualities. In the Pinacoteca, in addition to the works of the original nucleus from the collection of Federico Borromeo and numerous subsequent bequests, today it is possible to admire over 1,500 works of art belonging to different historical periods. Among the “unmissable” masterpieces of the collection: the “Portrait of a Musician” by Leonardo da Vinci, the “Basket of Fruit” by Caravaggio, the “Preparatory Cartoon for the School of Athens” by Raphael, the “Madonna of the Pavilion” by Botticelli, the “Nativity Scene” by Barocci, the “Adoration of the Magi” by Titian, the “Holy Family” by Bernardino Luini, the “Fire” and the “Water” by Brueghel. The building also includes the Biblioteca Ambrosiana where the wonderful seventeenth-century reading room hosts the “Atlantic Code” by Leonardo da Vinci. The exhibition complex also preserves an incredibly rich heritage, consisting of books, sculptures and an infinite number of ancient objects. Speakers: Mons. Alberto Rocca (Doctor of the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana and Director of the Pinacoteca) Emanuele Vizzini (General Manager - Investitori sgr) Michele Scolletta (Head of Allianz Network Italy - Allianz Global Investors)
