[Anchor] The identities of all victims have been confirmed four days after the Jeju Air passenger plane crash. The investigation at the scene of the accident is also picking up speed. [Anchor] We will now talk about the progress of the investigation into the disaster and related issues with Professor Kwon Bo-hyeon of Kyongdong University's Department of Aviation Safety Management and Attorney Kim Seong-su. [Anchor] Welcome. Today is the first day of the new year and the fourth day since the disaster. As we previously reported through the press connection, all the victims' identities have been confirmed today. What is the current status? [Kim Seong-su] As you mentioned, the identities of all 179 victims have been confirmed today. And as there were four people who had not been confirmed as of yesterday, it seems that additional information will be available as the investigation progresses. This identification process seems to have been mostly confirmed through DNA testing, and aren't there bodies of the deceased? In the case of these bodies, 11 people have been delivered to their bereaved families, and some of them are in the process of holding funerals. Currently, 179 people have been recovered, but there may be remains or facts that are investigating the cause of the scene, so the investigation is still ongoing, and some investigations are expected to proceed a little further. [Anchor] There are many hands comforting the bereaved families from all over the country. Who is in charge of supporting the bereaved families and how is it being carried out? [Kim Seong-su] First of all, it seems that there are many different types of support. So first of all, the government and local governments seem to be providing support, and the airline, Jeju Air, has also said that they will provide support, so it seems that they are reviewing various types of support. And civic groups and volunteer groups across the country are also making efforts to support the bereaved families through volunteer activities, so there is a lot of support, and the Ministry of Justice recently said that they will provide legal support, so I can say that there is a lot of support in that area as well. [Anchor] The on-site accident investigation to determine the cause of the disaster has begun in earnest. Overseas aviation safety experts are focusing on the azimuth facility on the outskirts of the runway as a cause of the increased damage to the disaster. Let’s hear from them first. [John Cox / Aviation Safety Consultant: If it hadn’t hit the concrete dam, the plane would have stopped and the people would have been able to get off the plane. Why on earth was the concrete structure there?] [David Rearmount / Aviation Safety Expert: The pilot’s failure to lower the flaps and landing gear for landing was not actually the cause of the passenger deaths. The passengers died after hitting a solid structure (that should not have been there).] [Anchor] As you've heard, there have been quite a few criticisms about this concrete mound. What exactly is the role of this concrete mound? [Kwon Bo-heon] The role of the concrete mound is to act as a support for a device called a localizer that aircraft use for landing. [Anchor] One of the problems that has been pointed out is the connection between the localizer and the end of the runway...
