The “Medjugorje question” seems destined to never end. After the Note of the DDF “The Queen of Peace” the problem appears even more tangled. A distinction is made between the spiritual fruits of this spiritual proposal, to which - and only to which - the go-ahead is given, and the messages with its visionaries that both remain presumed. The presumed apparitions began way back in 1981. To date, therefore, it is not known (or perhaps it is not possible or unwilling to say) whether these phenomena are supernatural or not. But shouldn't the faithful who go to Medjugorje first of all be informed about the goodness or otherwise of the Mariophanic phenomenon? Do the abundant fruits come from the tree of apparitions? If this were the case then the visionaries and the apparitions would no longer be presumed and instead remain so. What is strange, however, is that the DDF is taking care to view a collection of messages starting from 1984, ignoring that instead it is the first ten days of Medjugorje, with the recorded tapes, that have a decisive role. The ace up the sleeve of the faithful disturbed by this provision remain the ten secrets. Of which, however, no one knows whether the famous "miraculous parchment" on which they are written exists or not. It could at least be shown, since no one, with the exception of Mirjana, would be able to read it anyway.
