A little trip out of town in the Tuscan lands! This time we find ourselves on a railway that is a nerve center for the Tuscan territory, which crosses the direct line and the Tyrrhenian line in parallel. A railway that connects Empoli with Chiusi-Chianciano Terme, crossing one of the most beautiful cities in the whole of Italy: Siena. We obviously stopped at the strategic station of the town of the same name, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. The composition of the railway line is very varied and unusual, in fact it goes from a short electrified double-track section (Montallese-Chiusi) to a piece of non-electrified double-track line (Granaiolo-Poggibonsi section). The Ferrovia Centrale Toscana has several junctions with other railway lines that connect it practically throughout the hilly and non-hilly territory of the region. Another stop was at the Certaldo station, famous for being the town where Giovanni Boccaccio spent most of his life. The passenger building of the Certaldo station dates back to the mid-nineteenth century, and has remained almost identical, despite the restorations and adjustments for the services offered to users. Here the railway is a trivialized double track. As always, if you liked the video, leave a nice like and a comment to support the channel!
