The child, Wassim Belmsikh, was found last Monday evening after his disappearance last Saturday in an incident that stirred Algerian public opinion. The child disappeared during an olive harvest trip with his mother and residents of the village of Rkouba, in the city of Skikda, east of the Algerian capital. All relevant services were mobilized, in addition to volunteers from the region’s residents and others who came from neighboring areas, to search for him. 150 civil protection agents of various ranks, 7 trained dogs, 3 fire trucks of various types, 2 ambulances, 6 communication vehicles and 7 buses participated in the search operation.
