About :

Alfaletrar is a project conceived by Professor Magda Soares from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in 2006 and promoted literacy initiatives in all municipal schools in Lagoa Santa (MG). Today, with 97% of children literate by the 3rd year of elementary school, this project is a national reference. The series of 19 videos of which this one is part was produced by Atta Mídia e Educação with funding from the Lemann Foundation in 2016 and shows the theoretical basis and practices of the project to support the work of literacy teachers and city governments that want to implement initiatives of this nature by adapting the project to their specific needs.
