Concrete steps were taken in Turkey's half-century-long quest for nuclear energy in 2015. The first power plant is being built in Akkuyu in the Gülnar district of Mersin... The second power plant planned for Sinop is in the planning phase. Both of these power plants are being built by the Russian state company Rosatom. President Erdoğan says more can be built. So, is Turkey ready for nuclear energy, what will happen to nuclear waste, what kind of studies are being conducted on the environmental impact of power plants?
