MERDEKA.COM - Jakarta gubernatorial candidate number 1, Ridwan Kamil, suddenly mentioned the name Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok in the final debate of the Jakarta gubernatorial election, on Sunday, November 17, 2024. In front of candidate pair number three, Pramono Anung and Rano Karno, Ridwan Kamil said that Ahok was the governor who carried out the most evictions, even calling him the most brutal. Ahok responded to Ridwan Kamil's sarcasm. He considered that if indeed the most evictions occurred in his era, it meant that the program to build many rusunawa was successful. Ahok explained that those who were moved to rusunawa were those whose houses were on the banks of the river. This was important to do to overcome flooding in Jakarta Insert quote Basuki Tjahaja Purnama "They were moved to good Rusunawa, given school buses and provided with health workers," Ahok felt that his performance in providing rusunawa for evicted residents was successful and not wrong. When asked if there were any suggestions or criticisms for Ridwan Kamil as one of the Jakarta Pilkada contestants, Ahok only smiled.
