Ahmed Sékou Touré of Conakry. The infrastructure and its amenities make the project a real business opportunity for Guinea. The overall cost of implementing the two phases of the project is estimated at 225 million euros. Ahmed Sékou Touré International Airport in full transformation. A vast expansion and modernization project composed of two phases will soon make the infrastructure an airport jewel that stands the test of time and defies competition. The first site will house the administration of the airport management and operating company (SOGEAC) and the power plant. But not only that! "On this site number 1 of the first phase, we have some works under construction. We have the building of the authority which will be SOGEAC which will therefore manage all of Guinea's airports. We also have the future power plant (...). There is also the main access, airside for people and vehicles. So as you can see, the major works are already finished (…)”, indicated Habib NIANG, Deputy Technical Director SOGEAC. The General Director of Namory CAMARA added that “all the infrastructures that you see today did not exist, it is new. These works, to tell the truth, when we finish them, we will really be proud in the sub-region, With great humility we can only be proud. We also have the social building (the canteen). In this canteen, there will be a mosque, a medical center”. On the second site, Albayrak is at work. The workers are active on the construction sites and the noise of the machines resonates everywhere, a sign of hard work. The future passenger terminal will have a capacity of three million passengers per year compared to the current one which is 500 thousand passengers. On site, several infrastructures are under construction including: the Freight building, general aviation as well as a water treatment center. This Cargo Terminal building will have a capacity to process 20 thousand tons of goods per year. General aviation, for its part, will be dedicated to the processing of private flights. It will be able to accommodate three simultaneously. With the start of the Simandou project, it will serve as a VIP area for businessmen. This building will be used as a temporary presidential pavilion. "For the first time, cargo ships will come here and trucks will be able to dock at the quay. We are a country that does a lot of trade, I think that will stimulate the entire business ecosystem. Everything that is being done, if you compare it to what we have, you will see that it is really a revolution. It is very important because our country has never had a cargo building of this nature. The docking system, the quay that we will have, the processing of goods will be very easy and fast", rejoices Namary CAMARA.
