The Syrian interim government has appointed Mohsina Al-Mukhithawi as the new governor of Sweida province in the south of the country. Hassan Hashemian, an Arab world analyst, says that Al-Mukhithawi was the head of the Maskan Bank and the head of the inspection department in the region during the Bashar al-Assad regime, and had resigned due to high corruption in the government's administrative body.
