In 1971 he entered the ranks of the clergy in Germany and became a doctor of Theology (Athens) and Philosophy - History (Cologne). From 1984 he was a professor at the Theological School of the University of Athens teaching "History of Spiritual Life during the post-Byzantine period", "History and Theology of Worship" and "Byzantine History". He was the Dean of the Theological School from 2004 to 2007[2], when he retired, now being Professor Emeritus of the School. SAINT PHILOTHEI AT ATHINA In 1522 AD. the only daughter of the famous aristocratic family of Athens, Paraskevi (Revoula) Benizelou, was born. But she, despite the pressures she received, strongly refused, aiming to devote herself to the Lord. Thus, after the death of her parents, ten years later she became a nun with the name Filothei.
