Armenians called him Mardakert. Its historical name was Agdara. When I went to Kalbajar as a child, I passed through Agdara a lot. The last time Armenian children stoned our car on that road. We could not go that way again. In 1991, movement along the Kalbajar-Aghdara road was possible only with the escort of armed Soviet soldiers. In the autumn of that year, the road was completely closed. More than 30 years. Now there are neither Armenian separatists on that road, nor armed Russian soldiers. The road is completely free.
