On December 10, AGERS held the presentation of the book “Riesgo, Seguro, Siniestro: Legado de un Perito” (Risk, Insurance, Claims: Legacy of an Expert), a work by the renowned technical expert advisor Elías Rodríguez Sevillano, at the Mutualidad de la Abogacía, which was the setting for an exclusive event attended by more than 100 professionals from the Risk and Insurance sector, as well as family and friends of the author. With almost five decades of experience in insurance appraisal, Elías Rodríguez has been a key figure in the resolution of complex claims and in the defense of professional ethics. His book, already considered a reference work, seeks to transmit the lessons accumulated during his prolific career, with the aim of inspiring and training future generations of professionals. The book was presented by a round table of experts moderated by the president of AGERS, Juan Carlos López Porcel, director of risks and insurance at Arcelormittal, who highlighted the importance of preserving and transmitting knowledge in the insurance sector. Accompanied by the author himself, Elías Rodríguez, Gonzalo Iturmendi Morales, general secretary of AGERS and Managing Partner of BUFETE G. ITURMENDI Y ASOCIADOS; Enrique Zárraga Aranceta, deputy managing director at Willis Iberia; Alfredo Arán Iglesia, senior advisor at Howden Group and Antonio Albanés Membrillo, managing partner of Bufete Albanés y Asociados. During their presentations, the speakers reflected on the professional legacy of Elías Rodríguez and analysed the impact of the book. Key topics were addressed such as the evolution of the figure of the expert in the insurance sector, the need for continuous training, and the impact of technology on risk and claims management.
