JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Subdit Jatanras Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya arrested 2 perpetrators MN and DM in an online gambling case involving employees of the Ministry of Communication and Digital. Both arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Sunday (10/11/2024) night. MN is a suspect who was previously announced by the police as one of the fugitives included in the DPO. MN's role is to deposit a list of websites and money. Meanwhile, DM is a new suspect based on the results of the development, and acts as a collector of money from the proceeds of crime from the online gambling business. Now the number of suspects that have been named by the police is 17 people, while one perpetrator with the initials A still has DPO status. Meanwhile, the former Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie said that he was a victim of betrayal by the suspects with the initials T and AK because he collaborated with online gambling bookies. Budi Arie said that the minister was not involved in protecting the activities of online gambling sites. Budi explained that during his 15 months as Minister of Communication and Information, he consistently eradicated online gambling. Budi is sure that he never gave an order, either in writing or verbally, to protect online gambling sites, let alone their cash flow. The spotlight also came from a member of Commission VI of the DPR, Rieke Diah Pitaloka regarding the online gambling case that dragged Kominfo employees during a meeting with the Minister of Cooperatives, Budi Arie Setiadi. Rieke hopes that Budi Arie will not have similar cases in the Ministry of Cooperatives again. Previously, Budi Arie emphasized that he was not involved in the case carried out by 11 of his former subordinates. He invited the police to investigate the information they wanted to know from him as the former Minister of Communication and Information.
