#RESCUE #URK #KNRM This vlog comes entirely from Urk. We are with the Vb002 in the harbor in the center of this well-known fishing village on the IJsselmeer. Our stay here will stay with us for a long time. We get on our bikes and explore the village. There is activity everywhere and people are very open and friendly. Something I had not expected, because Urk has not really been in the news positively lately. But we have a great time and together with my dad I visit some interesting places. For example, we visit the fishermen's monument. At this particularly impressive place on the edge of the village, all people who did not return alive from the sea are commemorated. We also take a look at the 30-meter high lighthouse and give us a beautiful view of the village but also the IJsselmeer. We also meet some older Urk men who sit on a bench and tell us nice stories. But the highlight of our visit comes in the evening! The KNRM of Urk invited us to be part of the weekly exercise they do. There was a towing exercise on the program and they thought it would be fun to tow the VB002 after my boat had an engine problem. Well, I knew that.
