The topics include the African diaspora and the construction of Brazil. Rufino is a historian, professor, writer, and one of the most important names in African culture in the country. With a PhD in Communication and Culture from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), he has published extensively, including children's books, textbooks, supplementary books, and others. He has also won the Jabuti Prize for Literature, the most important in the country, several times. Rafael Sanzio is a professor and PhD in ethnic cartography at the University of Brasília (UnB) and, at the institution, directs the Afro-Brazilian Geography Project of the Center for Applied Cartography and Geographic Information.
