About :

In the Reichstag elections on September 14, the NSDAP received 18.3 percent of the vote. Hitler's party had risen from a Bavarian political sect to the second largest party in Germany. It was in fundamental opposition to the Weimar democracy. 2 On February 2, after an internal meeting at the headquarters of the party leadership, the Brown House in Munich, Adolf Hitler decided to run against Paul von Hindenburg in the first round of the Reich presidential elections in March 1932. ------- Chapters ▷ 00:00 - Intro ▷ 01:08 - An election campaigner, 1929 - 1932 ▷ 10:49 - A murderer, 1933 - 1934 ▷ 23:45 - The Führer, 1934 - 1938 ▷ 40:46 - A respectable man, 1934 - 1938 ▷ 50:05 - End credits #adolfhitler #hitler #secondworldwar ------- Watch all episodes in our playlist: https://bit.ly/hitler_chronik Subscribe to wocomoDEUTSCH: https://bit.ly/2VgSBml Follow us on Facebook: / wocomo ------- On February 26, the government of the Free State of Braunschweig, to which a NSDAP Interior Minister belongs, granted him German citizenship. In the second round of voting on April 10, he received 36.8 percent of the vote. Reich President von Hindenburg was re-elected. In the Reichstag elections on July 31, the NSDAP emerged as the strongest faction with 37.3 percent. In another Reichstag election on November 6, the party lost about two million votes, but remained the strongest faction in the Reichstag. On January 30, 1933, Adolf Hitler was appointed Reich Chancellor of a national-conservative cabinet by Reich President von Hindenburg. In the last fairly free Reichstag election on March 5, the NSDAP fell short of the absolute majority it had hoped for, receiving 43.9 percent of the votes cast. On March 22, the NSDAP police chief of Munich, Heinrich Himmler, set up the first continuously operated concentration camp in the German Reich in Dachau. With the so-called "Enabling Act" passed by the Reichstag on March 24th with a 2/3 majority, Hitler was granted extraordinary powers for himself and his government, opening the door to dictatorship. By staging the so-called "Röhm Putsch" on June 30th, Hitler got rid of numerous political opponents inside and outside his party by having them murdered by the SS. On July 20th, the SS was separated from the SA and placed directly under Hitler. Hitler had thus forged the decisive weapon of his state. On August 2nd, Reich President Hindenburg died. Hitler combined the offices of Reich President and Reich Chancellor in his person and bore the title "Führer and Reich Chancellor". The Reichswehr was sworn in personally by him. The Reichstag, which had convened for a Reich Party Congress in Nuremberg, passed the "Nuremberg Race Laws" on September 15th, 1935. On March 7, 1936, the Wehrmacht marched into the Rhineland, which had been demilitarized by the Treaty of Versailles. The Summer Olympics from August 1 to 16 marked the first high point of Hitler's popularity in Germany. On February 4, 1938, Hitler dismissed the top brass of the Wehrmacht and assumed direct command of the army himself. On March 12, he had the Wehrmacht march into Austria, where there was a strong National Socialist movement. On May 30, he issued a secret order to destroy Czechoslovakia. The Munich Agreement of September 29 resulted in the areas of Czechoslovakia inhabited by Sudeten Germans falling to Germany. Hitler then declared that he no longer had any territorial claims in Europe. On November 9, Hitler and Goebbels initiated a pogrom night in what was now the "Greater German Reich."
